Let me introduce myself...
Hello!
I am Amanda, owner, designer, and creator of Rustic Lux Designs. In the fall of 2014, I taught myself how to use my husband's miter saw, and a business was born!
🔨 All of the reclaimed lumber I use was sourced from Nebraska. Nearly all of the lumber has come from barns that my husband, kids, and I have torn down. It is physically exhausting work, but worth every bead of sweat.
🔨My workshop is in a building that was once my husband’s grandfather's machine shed that he had built out of reclaimed lumber. Talk about full circle! My kiddos are the fourth generation to live on our farm. We love it here!
🔨I love math and science, and I am not excellent with English - if I throw in too many commas or babble on in run-on sentences, forgive me! I would prefer to be creating custom pieces for you!
🔨I would also rather be building than cooking or cleaning, so if you want to barter, I believe that is a form of payment!
🔨Small talk is hard for me! Let’s just open our hearts and have a deep conversation. I feel God has given us the experiences in life to help others along the way. And, if you want to talk business or about creating, pull up a chair, I may pick your brain.
🔨Most importantly, I love what I do. It is very physical work, my back and feet may ache, but my heart is full. Creating pieces for your home is my joy! Seeing the smiles, the grateful tears, and receiving your kind words fills my cup daily.
A couple of years ago I came across this quote, “We are born makers, we move what we are learning from our heads to our hearts through our hands.” That perfectly describes me. I thank you for shopping small.
